Technology Bits: California Puts Data On Line; Shopping Site Offers Bonus

* The California Attorney General’s Office has added to its Web site a searchable data base of Forms 990 filed by non-profit organizations in the state. The Form 990 is the informational tax return that charities are required to file with the I.R.S.

To get there: Go to http://www.caag.state.ca.us/charities.

* Through November 15, IGive.com will donate $10 to the favorite charity of each new member who joins the service and makes a purchase. IGive.com is an on-line shopping site, based in Evanston, Ill., that allows consumers to donate a portion of their purchases to charity.
