The Points of Light Foundation, a Washington charity, assists the President in making the choices and carrying out the award program. The recipients:

1442. 1445. Christ Child Society, Allison Park, Pa., a group of women who decorate a residential facility for abused and neglected boys in order to give it a more homelike atmosphere and who donate clothing and other personal items.

1446. Andover H.E.R.O. (Helping Everyone Read Outstandingly), Andover, N.J., an organization whose volunteers tutor elementary-school students at Long Pond School who do not score low enough on standardized reading tests to qualify for remedial assistance, but who are still struggling in class.
