Technology Bits: Planned Giving Design Center Expands

April 22, 1999 | Read Time: 1 minute

* The Planned Giving Design Center — an on-line service that provides free news and information on planned gifts and related topics — has been expanded. Formerly open only to financial advisers in 60 regions of the country, the service is now available nationwide to anybody. Subscribers get e-mail alerts that describe and analyze new regulatory actions affecting planned gifts, detailed information on specific types of gifts, and weekly articles by experts. To get there: Go to http://www.pgdc.net.

* In honor of National Volunteer Week, which is being celebrated through April 24, the Points of Light Foundation has added a section to its World-Wide Web site that offers suggestions and resources to help organizations recognize and thank volunteers. Non-profit groups can use the site to send electronic postcards (in English or Spanish) to thank their volunteers; get examples of successful volunteer projects and volunteer-recognition events used by corporations, volunteer centers, and youth programs; and download color logos for National Volunteer Week that can be tailored to charities’ own materials. To get there: http://www.pointsoflight.org/volunteerweek/default.html.
