Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps

Purpose: Established in 1996 by David Rosenn to provide a year-long service program for young Jews who want to work with non-profit groups to alleviate society’s ills while also studying Judaism.

Finances: The group brought in $182,000 last year, the majority coming from private foundations. This year, it estimates that it will receive $237,500.
