The International Development Network is hoping to become a one-stop on-line resource center for charities that work on economic development across the globe.

The Athens, Ga., non-profit group’s Web site is updated daily with news of concern to charities — as well as government agencies and companies — that work overseas. In the “Tools You Can Use” area, viewers can gain access to numerous Internet resources for development groups, while another section profiles development organizations.

Christopher L. Byrne, a former official at the United States Agency for International Development, founded the International Development Network because, he says, “there is not really one place on the Web you can go to to get development information.”

He adds: “And there’s a lot of sites that are woefully out of date.”

To get there: Using World-Wide Web software, type http://www.idn.org.
