Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH) (Seattle): Appointed Christopher J. Elias, senior associate and country representative in the international-programs division based in the Bangkok office of the Population Council (New York), to be president, effective September 1. He succeeds Gordon W. Perkin, who resigned November 1, 1999, and is now the director of the global health program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Seattle).

U. of Iowa (Iowa City): Announced the resignation of Ann M. Rhodes as vice president for university relations. She will remain at the university as associate counsel. The university also appointed Floyd Akins, director of major and planned giving at Grinnell College (Iowa), to be senior director of development for the College of Business; Deborah Dreusicke, a lawyer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to be director of development for the libraries; Christopher J. Goodale, director of alumni and development for the Law School at Drake U. (Des Moines), to be associate director of development for the College of Medicine and the College of Public Health; and Michael Kingan, assistant dean for development and community relations for the College of Law at U. of Washington (Seattle), to be director of development for the College of Liberal Arts.
