Alameda County Community Food Bank (Oakland, Calif.): Appointed Suzan W. Bateson, executive director of the Volunteer Center of Contra Costa (Walnut Creek, Calif.), to be executive director.
Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Washington): Appointed Michele Duchin, Web-site editor and research coordinator at the Center for the Advancement of Health (Washington), to be director of member services and applied research, and Rhonda Simmons, meeting and education manager at the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (Silver Spring, Md.), to be meeting manager.
America’s Second Harvest (Chicago): Appointed Robert H. Forney, president and chief executive officer of the Chicago Stock Exchange, to be president and chief executive officer. He succeeds Deborah Leff, who announced her resignation late last year and is now director of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library (Boston).
American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (Washington): Appointed Margaret Edgell Core, vice president of marketing and organizational development at the Consumer Electronics Association (Arlington, Va.), to be director of marketing; Douglas D. Pace, president of the Tennessee American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (Nashville), to be director of assisted living and continuing care; and Sharon C. American Civil Liberties Union (New York): Appointed Anthony D. Romero, director of human rights and international cooperation at the Ford Foundation (New York), to be executive director, effective in September. He will succeed Ira Glasser, who is retiring.

Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts (Hartford, Conn.): Appointed David R. Fay, executive director of the Pantages Theatre (Toronto) and president of the Canadian production division of the SFX Theatrical Group (New York), to be executive director and chief executive officer. He succeeds Douglas C. Evans, who resigned in July 2000; Ronna Reynolds, managing director, has been serving as interim executive director.

Hale House (New York): Announced the resignations of Lorraine E. Hale, co-founder, president, and chief executive officer, and Jesse DeVore, director of public relations and also Ms. Hale’s husband. Edna Wells Handy, director of the Legal Skills Center (New York), has been appointed acting executive director. This group offers care to children born addicted to alcohol or drugs or born infected with H.I.V., or whose mothers are incarcerated.
Hudson Institute (Indianapolis): Appointed Gary L. Geipel, a senior fellow, to be vice president and chief operating officer, and Kenneth R. Weinstein, director of the Washington office, also to be vice president.
Humane Society of the United States (Washington): Appointed Jan Martin, director of major and planned gifts at the American Heart Association (Dallas), to be director of development and donor relations.
Illinois Facilities Fund (Chicago): Appointed Elizabeth Evans, director of public policy and research, to be director of public policy and communications, and J.B.
