Raquel Thueme, vice president for programs, has been promoted to president. She joined the $215 million foundation as program director in 2011, and succeeds Handy Lindsey Jr., who has retired after four years as president.

Jim Taylor, corporate relations program manager in the Office of Public Private Partnerships for Fairfax County, in Virginia, has become vice president for leadership initiatives and education. In this role, he will lead the organization’s programs to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity on nonprofit boards of directors.

Nord Family Foundation

Anthony Richardson, head of the Lorain Schools’ Academic Distress Commission and associate director for the Nord Family Foundation, has been promoted to become the $168 million foundation’s next executive director. He succeeds John Mullaney, who will retire in June after 21 years in the role.

More New CEOs

Lance Burchett has joined Kennesaw State University as its vice president for advancement and CEO of the KSU Foundation. Previously, he was vice chancellor for development and alumni affairs at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, as well as executive director for that university’s Foundation Fund.

Ryan Chao, vice president of the Center for Civic Sites and Community Change at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, will become president of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy on January 28.

Nadine Dehgan, chief executive officer of the Hearing Health Foundation, has been appointed CEO of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation.

Tim Dolan, vice principal for advancement at the University of Sydney, will join the University of Hawaii as its vice president of advancement and CEO of the University of Hawaii Foundation, effective February 1.

Alicia Guevara, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Brooklyn Children’s Museum, has been named executive director of Part of the Solution, a New York charity that provides food, legal advice, and social services for poor people in the Bronx.

Johann Zietsman, CEO and president of the Arts Commons in Calgary, in Canada, has been named president and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, in Miami. He replaces John Richard, who will retire in February after 10 years at the helm.

Other Notable Appointments

Jay Browning has been appointed vice president for advancement at Montgomery County Community College. He was most recently a principal consultant and owner of Browning Advisors, which advises organizations on fundraising and leadership training.

Katy Burrier, director of advertising at Columbus Business First, has been appointed senior vice president of resource development at the United Way of Central Ohio.

Murray Devine, manager of communications and marketing at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, has joined the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation as communications and learning officer.

Natalie Milburn Doan, interim vice president for university advancement at Ohio Wesleyan University, has been appointed permanently to the position. Previously she was director of donor relations at the university.

Nick Herman, director of development operations at the American Farmland Trust, has been promoted to vice president for development.

Patricia Jackson, interim vice president for alumni affairs at Dartmouth College’s Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, was named vice president for development at Brown University.

Khailylah (Kiki) Jordan, director of the Marin Family Birth Center, has become interim CEO of the Marin City Health & Wellness Center. She succeeds JayVon Muhammad, who served in the top role for five years and will now lead the Southwest Louisiana Center for Health Services, in Lake Charles, La.

Stephen Manuszak, director of international programs for Arts Midwest, will become the George Family Foundation’s first program officer, effective January 14.

Kaberi Banerjee Murthy, vice president of programs at the Brooklyn Community Foundation, has joined the Meyer Memorial Trust as director of program strategy.

Leticia Peguero, executive director of the Andrus Family Fund, has been named vice president of programs at the Nathan Cummings Foundation.

Ruth-Anne Renaud has joined Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana as vice president of marketing and communications. She was previously director of global marketing at World Bicycle Relief.

Anna von Gehr, chief officer for advancement and external affairs at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, has been named executive director of development and strategic initiatives at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts.

Departures

Adam Lerner, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, will step down when his contract expires in June after 10 years at the helm.

Joann Ricci, vice president of organizational effectiveness at the Greater New Orleans Foundation, is leaving her role after eight years.

Legacies

Harold Levy, the former executive director of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, died on November 27 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was 65.

Richard Proudfit, founder of Feed My Starving Children, a charity in Minnesota that has delivered more than 2 billion healthy meals to starving children around the world, died on November 13 at the age of 88.
