Longtime CEO of Meadows Foundation Will Retire in 2019

Huntington Library

Karen R. Lawrence, former president of Sarah Lawrence College, has been named president of the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens. Lawrence will replace the interim president, Steve Hindle, who is the Huntington’s director of research. Hindle became interim president in March 2017 when Laura Trombley stepped down after less than two years. The Huntington said Trombley wanted to focus on a book-length study of Mark Twain.

Meadows Foundation

Linda Perryman Evans intends to retire as president and CEO, effective on December 31, 2019. She has led the Texas grant maker since 1996. The philanthropy, established by her great-uncle and aunt, Algur and Virginia Meadows, in 1948 has grown to $732 million in assets.

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

Rudra Chaudhuri, a senior lecturer in South Asian security and strategic studies in the Department of War Studies and the India Institute at King’s College London, has been appointed director of Carnegie India, based in New Delhi.

NorthLight Foundation

Kate Sinding Daly has been named its first executive director. Previously she was a senior strategic consultant at Water Defense and senior adviser to the president of the Natural Resources Defense Council. Dan and Sheryl Tishman created the foundation earlier this year. Mr. Tishman is the principal and vice chairman of Tishman Realty and the former CEO and chairman of Tishman Construction.

More New CEOs

Deborah Cullen-Morales has become executive director of the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Previously she was director and chief curator of the Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University. She succeeds Holly Block, who died in October.

Cortney Nicolato, president and CEO of the Senior Source, has been named president and CEO of the United Way of Rhode Island. She succeeds Anthony Maione, who is retiring after 13 years at the helm.

Gina Stilp, social innovation director at Dohmen Constellations, has been appointed executive director of the Zilber Family Foundation. She follows Susan Lloyd, who is leaving the Milwaukee foundation after a decade of leadership.

Other Notable Appointments

Gina Bianchi, associate vice president for alumni and development at Millikin University, has been promoted to vice president for alumni and development.

A. Rima Dael, interim executive director of development and major gifts at New England Public Radio since December, has been appointed permanently to the role. Prior to joining the radio station, she was executive director of institutional advancement and foundation at Springfield Technical Community College.

Jason Daisey, chief financial officer at the public radio station WETA in Arlington, Va., has been promoted to chief operating officer and executive vice president.

Matthew Goetting, associate head of school and external affairs at Lincoln Academy, in Newcastle, Me., has been named vice president of institutional advancement at the Maine College of Art.

Teresa Karamanos has joined the International Fund for Animal Welfare as vice president of global development. Previously she was director for principal gifts at Columbia University.

Veronica Thames, vice president of human resources at Blake Medical Center, is joining Gulf Coast Community Foundation as senior vice president for talent and innovation and chief operating officer.

Departures

Daniel McQuaid, president and chief executive of OneOC, a resource center for nonprofit groups based in Santa Ana, Calif., will retire at the end of this year.

Hedy Milgrom, senior vice president and chief development officer at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, has retired. She has worked at the charity since 1998.
