Daniel Lashof has joined the environmental group as director of its work in the United States. Most recently, he was the chief operating officer at NextGen Policy Center, and before that served as director of the Climate and Clean Air Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

DeAnna Hoskins, senior policy adviser on corrections and re-entry for the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance under President Obama, will become president. This national organization aims to reduce incarceration rates by half before 2030.

Jeremy Bernard, who served as White House social secretary and special assistant to President Obama from 2011 to 2015, has been appointed president. He succeeds Deidre Lind, who is stepping down.

Nancy Berglass has become president of the National Veterans Intermediary. She has been CEO of Berglass Community Investment Consulting, which she founded in Los Angeles in 1997.

Geof Morin, senior vice president for ministry mobilization at the American Bible Society, has become CEO of Biblica, the International Bible Society.

Monique Rizer, executive director at Opportunity Nation, has joined Urban Alliance as executive director of the Washington, D.C., region. She succeeds Nathaniel Cole, who has stepped down.

Krishna Thiagarajan, chief executive officer of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, has been named president and CEO of the Seattle Symphony.

La Juana Whitmore has joined Jeremiah Program as its executive director for Minneapolis and St. Paul. She was previously the director of consulting solutions at the Metropolitan Economic Development Association.

Danielle York, chief operating officer for the U.S. western region at the communications firm Edelman, has been named president and general manager of the Children’s Cancer Association.

Darrell Byers, vice president for development at Easterseals Bay Area, has been appointed chief advancement officer at Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco.

Jim Finnerty, senior director of campaigns for the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, has joined Buffalo State College as its vice president for institutional advancement and executive director of the Buffalo State College Foundation.

Sabrina Greig, an art critic and program director at the Haitian American Museum of Chicago, has joined the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation as its arts-learning program officer.

Dan Grigg, vice president for development and alumni relations at Lindenwood University, has been hired as vice president for institutional advancement at Indiana Tech.

Thomas Gutenberger, vice president for advancement at the University of Richmond, has been appointed deputy director for advancement at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation.

Michelle Moon, director of interpretation and program evaluation at the Newark Museum, has been appointed chief programs officer at the Tenement Museum.

Joshua Newton, president and CEO of the UConn Foundation, will become senior vice president for advancement and alumni engagement at Emory University at the end of August.

Jennifer Roberti will join Save the Children as chief marketing officer, a new position. Previously she was senior vice president for marketing and communications of Unicef USA.

Todd Shenk has joined the Rasmuson Foundation as a senior program officer. Most recently he owned a consulting firm for nonprofit groups in Seattle, and before that he spent 12 years as the senior director for strategic engagement and initiatives at Casey Family Programs.

Alisha Williams, director of the LGBTQ poverty initiative at the Vaid Group, has joined the Arcus Foundation as a program officer in its social-justice program.

Departures

Bryan Fonseca, the founder of the Phoenix Theatre and its longtime producing director, is leaving the Indianapolis organization after 35 years.

Legacies

Douglas Bennet, the former president of National Public Radio and later Wesleyan University, died on June 10 at age 79. He took NPR’s helm in 1984 and in his 10 years as president, guided the media group through a time of near-bankruptcy.

Dorothy Cotton, who was a senior official at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, founded by Martin Luther King Jr., died on June 10. She was 88. During her tenure at the Atlanta charity, she directed the Citizenship Education Program, which taught civics to thousands of African-Americans.
