Grantmakers in the Arts

Edwin Torres, deputy commissioner of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, is the new president and chief executive officer of the organization. Mr. Torres, who previously worked for the Rockefeller and Ford foundations, will succeed current CEO Janet Brown in mid-October.

The organization’s board also voted to move its offices from Seattle to New York City, effective early next year.

Camp Corral

Leigh Longino has been promoted from chief operating officer to CEO. The organization runs summer camps in 19 states for the children of military service members killed in action and of wounded, disabled, or ailing troops and veterans.

Detroit Children’s Fund

Jack Elsey, former chief schools officer of the Education Achievement Authority, has been named the Detroit fund’s first executive director.

Marion County Healthcare Foundation

Pete Mazzaroni, head of external relations and communications at Roche, a global pharmaceutical company, will be executive director of the South Carolina foundation.

Other notable appointments:

Kraig Butrum, an independent consultant, has been named chief development officer of Enactus, an international organization that focuses on youth and entrepreneurship.

Lee Williams joined the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee as interim regional vice chancellor for advancement. Previously, Ms. Williams ran her own consulting business and served as interim senior vice president for development and alumni relations at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Departures

Lori Kaplan has announced she will step down from the leadership of the Latin American Youth Center after 38 years, once a successor is chosen.
