Description: This quilt hangs in the waiting area of a new facility for this shelter for battered women.
Purpose: To thank donors who gave $1,000 or more in a campaign to raise $2-million to build the new shelter.
Number of donors included: 150
How donors are honored: Names of campaign donors are engraved on metal squares, which are connected by ribbon to form a wall hanging that resembles a homemade quilt.
Creative strategy: To show that donations help women and further the shelter’s goal: Just as quilt making combines tattered pieces of cloth into a durable cover, the shelter works to make something strong out of what was discarded.
Designer: Recognition Resources, Sarasota, Fla.
Cost: $12,000
