Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation
Flozell Daniels Jr. will serve as its next CEO, effective September 26. The $213 million foundation focuses its grant making on addressing poverty and economic justice in the American South.
Daniels is currently the CEO and president of the Foundation for Louisiana.
Carnegie Corporation of New York

William Moon, chief financial officer of the Russell Sage Foundation, will be joining the $4.7 billion foundation as vice president and chief financial officer on August 15.
He will succeed Robert Seman, who plans to retire at the end of the year after 32 years at Carnegie.
Equal Justice Works
Verna Williams, a law professor at the University of Cincinnati, will become CEO of the public-interest law organization on September 19.
Ford Foundation
The $20 billion foundation has promoted two program directors from within.
Monica Aleman is now international program director for gender, racial, and ethnic justice. She has worked at the foundation since 2011, most recently as its senior program officer for its Build program.
José García has been promoted to program director of Future of Work(ers). He has been part of the labor-rights program’s staff since 2017, most recently as senior program officer.

More New CEOs
Dominique Goss, senior group manager for corporate citizenship at TD Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation, has been appointed executive director of the M&T Charitable Foundation. She succeeds Shelley Drake, who retired in March after working at the bank for 50 years.
Matthew Hargraves, interim chief curator at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, has been promoted to director. He will serve alongside the museum’s CEO, Jeff Brown.
Amanda Navarro, chief impact officer at PolicyLink, will be executive director of the Convergence Partnership, which has become an independent entity from PolicyLink to advance racial justice and health equity. In addition, Michele Silver will serve as its director of programs. Most recently she was a senior associate at PolicyLink.
Rebecca Regan, partner and co-head of affordable housing and impact investing at Terra Search Partners, will become CEO of Capital Link and the Community Health Center Capital Fund on September 1. She will succeed Allison Coleman, who is retiring after nearly 30 years leading both organizations.
Other Notable Appointments
Donald Cooke, senior vice president for philanthropy of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, has been hired as vice president at the Alford Group, a consulting company for nonprofit organizations.
Lauren Dasse, co-executive director of the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, has been named senior director of advocacy and policy at the human-rights organization Madre.
Taylor Hebble has been promoted from director of marketing and communications at Hope for Haiti to chief marketing officer.
Jessica Mofield has been appointed chief advancement officer for Tides Advocacy, the 501(c)(4) arm of Tides. Most recently, she served as executive director of the NYC Mayor’s Office to Prevent Gun Violence.
Preethi Nallu, a journalist and documentary filmmaker who was most recently co-editor at Mediabridge, has joined the Groundtruth Project as the inaugural global director of Report for the World, an international service program that connects promising journalists with local newsrooms.
Chris Needles has been named chief development officer at the Wounded Warrior Project. Most recently he was vice president for development, principal gifts, and central development programs at the Rutgers University Foundation.
DeDi Oxenberg has been promoted from senior vice president and managing director to executive vice president at the fundraising agency CDR.
DeMarcus Akeem Suggs has joined the Mid-America Arts Alliance as its director of development. He most recently served as director of development for Alternate Roots, an arts organization based in Atlanta. In addition, Kyle Mullins was promoted from artist-services program associate to artist-services program officer.
Departure
Angelo McClain will retire as CEO of the National Association of Social Workers at the end of the year. He has led the group since 2013.
Legacy
Lily Safra, a philanthropist who helped guide the Edmond J. Safra Foundation for more than 20 years, died on July 9 at age 87. Her husband, Edmond Safra, was founder of the Republic New York Corporation and Republic National Bank of New York, and chairman of its European private banking subsidiary, Safra Republic Holdings. He died in 1999. Lily Safra became chairwoman of the foundation after his death, where she oversaw grant making in education, science and medicine, religion, and humanitarian assistance, culture, and social welfare.
