Indian businessman Anil Agarwal, chairman of the metals and mining company Vedanta Resources, has committed $1-billion to establish a “world-class” university in India, reports Rediff India Abroad. Mr. Agarwal said he envisions Vedanta University, in a location yet to be determined, as a global, multidisciplinary research and development hub on par with institutions like Stanford University, in Palo Alto, Calif.
