$25 Million Alumnus Gift Renames Villanova U. Law School

Villanova University has received a $25 million donation from investment manager Charles Widger, whose name will now adorn the Philadelphia-area institution’s School of Law, The Philadelphia Inquirer writes. His gift will be used largely to fund scholarships for students with an interest in both business and the law.
The contribution will also endow a professorship and establish an “innovation fund” for new academic programs, university officials said. Mr. Widger, a 1973 graduate of the law school, is the founder and executive chairman of Berwyn, Pa., investment firm Brinker Capital. He is the first Villanova donor to have a school named for him.
