Billionaire investor Isaac Perlmutter and his wife, Laurie, have pledged $50-million to the cancer institute at NYU Langone Medical Center, and an additional gift of the same amount or larger could be in the offing, The Wall Street Journal writes.
Ms. Perlmutter, who began volunteering at the New York hospital in 1978, working in the gift shop, said she and her husband are “in discussion” on providing an “equal or larger” donation to the cancer center, which is being renamed for them. The couple serve as trustees of NYU Langone, and Ms. Perlmutter is on the board of the cancer institute.
