59 Foundations to Receive Publicity Awards
April 23, 1998 | Read Time: 4 minutes
The Council on Foundations next week will honor 59 grant makers that it says have done a good job of keeping the public informed about their activities.
The Wilmer Shields Rich Awards for Excellence in Communications, named in memory of the council’s first executive director, will be presented at the council’s annual meeting in Washington April 27-29. The awards recognize outstanding annual reports, newsletters, public-information campaigns, special reports, World-Wide Web sites, and other publicity materials.
The annual competition is run with help from the Communications Network, a group of foundation officials who specialize in public relations.
This year, 220 entries were submitted to the competition.
