Amrit Singh, a lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union, in New York, is a frequent critic of the Bush administration’s treatment of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan, but in an ironic twist her father is Manmohan Singh, prime minister of India, who is on good terms with the president, reports The Wall Street Journal.
