The actress Angelina Jolie is considering whether to sue the director of Cambodian Vision in Development, a conservation group, because she believes the director misappropriated her donations, reports the Associated Press.
Ms. Jolie’s philanthropic and political adviser, Trevor Neilson, told the news agency that hundreds of thousands of dollars left in the care of Mounh Sarath, the organization’s director, are missing. Mr. Sarath has denied stealing the donated money.
Ms. Jolie terminated a contract with Mr. Sarath’s group in December and established the Maddox Jolie Project to administer the forest-conservation project. The organization is named for her 5-year-old son, who was adopted from Cambodia in 2002. She pledged $1.3-million over five years to the effort.
