African Health-Research Group Gets $17-Million Gates Grant

A nonprofit group in Ghana that helps build the basic infrastructure for scientific health studies received a $17-million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation this week, reports The Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
The Indepth Network, founded in 1998, works with community leaders to establish identification systems, such as numbering homes in a village or distributing idenfication cards to help with health studies, the newspaper reports.
