Alphabet Executive to Donate $148 Million From Startup Sale

Diane Greene, a director of Google parent company Alphabet, plans to give her proceeds from Alphabet’s purchase of her cloud-computing firm Bebop Technologies to a donor-advised fund, The Wall Street Journal and VentureBeat report. According to a securities filing Monday, Ms. Greene will put the approximately 7.2 million Alphabet shares she received in the December 17 sale into a donor-advised fund.
A prominent Silicon Valley entrepreneur who has served on Alphabet’s board since 2012, she will become an Alphabet senior vice president heading Google’s cloud-computing business as a result of the $380 million acquisition.
