Alumni Couple Gives $57-Million to Auburn University

A gift from John and Rosemary Brown will fund a new performing-arts center as well as a student achievement center at the college of engineering, WSFA reports.
Mr. Brown was chief executive and board chairman of medical device company Stryker Corporation. Ms. Brown is a retired math teacher.
The university also announced a $1-billion fundraising campaign. More than $775-million has been raised to date.
