Former congressman and New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner is a principal in a new social venture that aims to operate a restaurant offering locally sourced food and job-training and job-placement services for unemployed and disadvantaged people in the Rockaway area of Queens, according to The Rockaway Times.
The local news Web site reports that Mr. Weiner—whose Capitol Hill career and mayoral campaign were torpedoed by revelations that he sent lewd photos to women on Twitter—is seeking a site for the nonprofit Rockaway Restoration Kitchen and has had talks with an area developer.
Mr. Weiner’s name does not appear on the organization’s website, but he is listed as co-administrator of an Idealist.org page advertising the job of executive director for the project.
