ARTS CENTER CLOSES
January 11, 2006
The Center for Arts and Culture, a resource for news and information on policies affecting the arts located in Arlington, Va., has closed its operations, reports Backstage.com. Although no official reason for the closure of the nonprofit group has been announced, a letter on the center’s Web site says the organization closed due to lack of money. Formed in 1994, the center conducted and commissioned research reports, sponsored programs and educational forums, and became well known for its online mailing list that provided news about arts and culture.
