Arts Center Seeks Wider Audience

July 26, 2006 | Read Time: 1 minute

Reynold Levy, president of Lincoln Center, in New York City, is experimenting with creative approaches to make the institution appeal to a wider audience, reports The New York Times.

Mr. Levy is in charge of the center’s day-to-day operations and oversees an annual operating budget of $95-million. His decision to let the stuntman David Blaine use Lincoln Center’s grounds to try to set a record for living in an aquarium gained the center wide exposure, with a live ABC broadcast, and is an example of Mr. Levy’s recent attempts to reach out to people beyond the center’s usual audience.
