Auditors Investigate Salaries at Public-Radio Station
May 1, 2006
Auditors from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting are looking into the compensation and fund-raising practices at KCPW, a public-radio station in Salt Lake City, reports the Salt Lake Tribune.
Blair Feulner, the station’s general manager, and his wife, Susan, together collected nearly $1.6-million in salary and bonuses from 2001 to 2003.
Mr. Feulner has defended his compensation, saying that the salaries he and his wife received were fair because they worked for low wages for the station in previous years. He said the station doesn’t want its competitors to learn about its fund-raising practices.
