Australian Hospital Magnate Leaves $3-Billion to Foundation

Paul Ramsay, an Australian hospital mogul who died last week at age 78, left his $3-billion fortune to his charitable foundation, United Press International and The Sydney Morning Herald report.

One of Australia’s richest citizens, Mr. Ramsay founded Ramsay Health Care, the country’s largest operator of private hospitals. His health-focused Paul Ramsay Foundation will receive his 36.2-percent stake in the company.

Mr. Ramsay died Thursday after suffering a heart attack while vacationing in Spain. He never married and had no children.
