Fund raising. The Direct Marketing Association (New York) has presented its 2000 Fund Raising Achievement Award to Claude Grizzard Sr., past chairman and chief executive officer of the Grizzard Communications Group (Atlanta), which helped the Salvation Army raise $175-million in the United States and Canada last year. Over his 38-year career, Mr. Grizzard also made significant contributions to the fund-raising efforts of the American Red Cross and the National Cancer Institute.

Grant making. The Council on Foundations (Washington) has named Dorothy A. (Dottie) Johnson to receive its Distinguished Grantmaker Award. Philanthropy. The National Society of Fund Raising Executives (Alexandria, Va.) has presented its 2000 Outstanding Philanthropist Award to Robert B. Pamplin Jr. for his personal and corporate giving.
