January 12, 2015 | Read Time: 1 minute

Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Wash., has donated $18-million to expand nursing education at Washington State University Tri-Cities, the Tri-City Herald reports. The gift, to be formally announced Monday, will primarily finance new faculty hires for the university’s nursing program in the state’s southeast.

Doane Academy in Burlington City, N.J., announced a $17-million gift Friday from industrialist Henry Rowan and his wife, writes The Philadelphia Inquirer. The donation creates an endowment expected to yield $850,000 in annual interest income and help the small preparatory school boost enrollment.
