Bits: Blackbaud Acquires Campagne Associates

- Blackbaud, a company in Charleston, S.C., that makes fund-raising and accounting software for nonprofit organizations, has acquired Campagne Associates, a fund-raising software company in Manchester, N.H., in a $6-million cash deal. - The Social Science Research Council, in New York, has published a new report, “Civil Technologies: The Values of Nonprofit ICT Use,” which profiles 11 nonprofit organizations around the world that have successfully integrated technology into their work. It also discusses the challenges charities face as they adopt information technology. Among the organizations profiled: eHomemakers.net, a Malaysian project to provide support to women running businesses from their homes.
