Bits: Democracy Collaborative Launches Community-Wealth.org

Community-Wealth.org, a new Web site created by the Democracy Collaborative at the University of Maryland, provides news, articles, and other information about economic-development organizations, financial institutions that specialize in neighborhood development, local land trusts, cooperatives, and nonprofit business ventures, as well as government efforts to create jobs and build stable local economies. A Webcast titled “The Future of Community Foundations” is available on the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Web site free until the end of September.
