- The Indiana attorney general’s office is now able to share through its Web site financial information from charities that use professional solicitors to raise money in the state. The information is being collected as part of a new state law that requires fund-raising companies to file annual reports with the attorney general’s office. Attorney General Steve Carter says he encourages potential donors to check the site before they make contributions. - A new survey by GuideStar and Network for Good has found that the gender, race, and ethnicity of nonprofit employees have little bearing on whether their employers are online or not. The survey, paid for with a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, was completed by 6,434 individuals associated with charities or foundations, who responded to an e-mail request for information sent out to registered GuideStar users. GuideStar said the collection method probably drew a disproportionate number of people who have Internet connections at work.
