British Charities Post Strong Year
December 6, 2006
A survey by the Charities Aid Foundation, in Kent, England, and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, in London, has found that donors in Great Britain gave an estimated $17.5-billion to charities in 2005-6, reports Reuters.
The study found that 60 percent of the British population gives to charity, about the same as last year. Other findings include that women are more likely to give money to charity, but men tend to give slightly more, and people ages 35 to 44 are the most generous and most likely to give overall.
