The charity Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke says that its donors have threatened to withhold gifts because of a saucy British Heart Foundation advertisement that depicts a man wearing nothing but a swim cap, reports BBC News.
Andrew Dougal, of the Northern Ireland group, says that people have confused the rival heart-health organizations and are blaming his charity for the posters, which feature the naked man embracing a woman on a beach, with the message that “sex and swimming are good for the heart.”
The British Heart Foundation says the campaign has been highly successful. “So far 27,000 people have asked for our free information pack. And there were over 10,000 visits to the campaign Web site in the first two weeks alone,” says Betty McBride, who works for the British group.
