Broad Foundation Names New Chief Investment Officer; Other New Appointments

ALS Association, DC/MD/VA Chapter (Rockville, Md.): Appointed Ronnie Gunnerson, an affiliate assistant professor in the department of communications at Loyola U. Maryland (Baltimore), to be executive director.
American Rivers (Washington): Appointed Alma Jane Shepard, a fund-raising consultant at Talisman Associates (Washington), to be senior vice president for development.
Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, Calif.): Appointed Arwen Duffy, vice president for advancement at the California Institute of the Arts (Valencia), to be senior vice president for development and external affairs.
Association of Fundraising Professionals (Arlington, Va.): Announced the retirement of Paulette Maehara, president and chief executive officer, effective in March 2011.
Center of Creative Arts (St. Louis): Appointed Kelly Lamb Pollock, general manager, to be executive director.
Center for Family Representation (New York): Appointed Patrick J. Sirois, former vice president of individual giving at Safe Horizon (New York), to be director of development and communications. This organization provides free legal services to troubled families.
Citizen Schools California (Redwood City): Appointed Joe Ross, senior business manager at Cisco Systems (San Jose, Calif.), to be executive director of this organization, which offers after-school programs for needy middle-school students.
Community Services League (Independence, Mo.): Appointed Michael A. Levine, director of development and marketing, to be executive director of this social-services group.
Connecticut Humanities Council (Middletown): Appointed Stuart Parnes, former president of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (St. Michaels, Md.), to be interim executive director. He succeeds Bruce Fraser, who died in June.
DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation (Washington): Appointed Ellen London, interim president and former vice president of communications and community engagement, to be president and chief executive officer.
Domestic Abuse Women’s Network (Tukwila, Wash.): Appointed Cheryl Bozarth, executive director of Dove House (Port Townsend, Wash.), a center for victims of domestic and sexual violence, to be executive director.
EngenderHealth (New York): Appointed Pamela W. Barnes, president and chief executive officer of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (Washington), to be president and chief executive officer. EngenderHealth works to improve reproductive health care in poor communities around the world.
Epilepsy Foundation (Landover, Md.): Announced the resignation of Eric R. Hargis, president and chief executive officer.
Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, Md.): Appointed Scott Campbell, national vice president of research programs at the American Diabetes Association (Alexandria, Va.), to be executive director and chief executive officer.
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Seattle): Appointed Lawrence Corey, senior vice president, to be president and director. He succeeds Lee Hartwell, who plans to retire.

HomeownershipSF (San Francisco): Appointed Christi Baker, founder of the Chrysalis Consulting Group (San Francisco), a firm that trains charities to help poor people build their financial assets, to be executive director.
Impact Fund (Berkeley, Calif.): Appointed Jocelyn D. Larkin, deputy director, to be executive director. She succeeds the organization’s founder, Brad Seligman, who will become senior counsel. The Impact Fund provides financial and legal assistance to class-action civil-rights lawsuits.
Investment Fund for Foundations (West Conshohocken, Pa.): Appointed Laurence H. Lebowitz, former chairman and managing director of HBK Capital Management (Dallas), to be president and chief investment officer. He succeeds David A. Salem, who has stepped aside from day-to-day leadership.
Lyric Opera of Chicago: Announced the retirement of William Mason, general director, effective at the end of its 2011-12 season.
N Street Village (Washington): Appointed Schroeder Stribling, deputy executive director, to be executive director. She succeeds Mary Funke, who will become president, leading the organization’s fund-raising efforts. N Street Village provides mental-health counseling, job training, and other social services to low-income and homeless women.
