Bronx Children’s Museum Names Preschool Founder as Executive Director

Denise Rosario Adusei has been tapped as executive director. She is the founder of Peartree Preschool, an arts-focused educational program in New York’s Harlem neighborhood.

Adusei succeeds Carla Precht, who led the museum for 13 years.

Arnold Ventures

Jennifer Doleac will become its executive vice president of criminal justice on July 10. Currently she is an associate professor of economics at Texas A&M University and the director of its Justice Tech Lab.

Doleac will follow Jeremy Travis, who has worked there since 2017.

Council on Foreign Relations

Michael Froman, vice chairman and president for strategic growth at Mastercard, will be the next president of the council.

He was a top adviser to President Barack Obama on issues of international trade and security, having served as the U.S. trade representative from 2013 to 2017 and deputy national security adviser from 2009 to 2013.

Froman will replace Richard Haass, who is leaving in June after leading the group since 2003.

More New CEOs

Susan Barry, former president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Louisville, has been appointed CEO of GMA Foundations. She follows its co-founders Newell Flather and Mary Phillips at the helm of the philanthropic advisory firm. Phillips will remain at the company as a senior adviser.

Briana Marbury was promoted from executive director to president and CEO of the Interledger Foundation, a nonprofit group that advances financial inclusion for women and people of color in the digital economy.

Karen Rohr, assistant vice president for engagement and annual giving at Bowling Green State University, has been named vice president for university advancement at the State University of New York at Fredonia and executive director of the Fredonia College Foundation.

Center for Justice Innovation

The research organization, which was previously known as the Center for Court Innovation, has hired three new executives.

Sherene Crawford, who previously co-led its criminal-justice programs, has returned as chief of staff. She was most recently executive assistant district attorney and division chief of the Pathways to Public Safety Division at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Dan Lavoie, communications director at City Harvest, has been named chief external-affairs officer.

Theron Pride has been named managing director of national initiatives and research. He was most recently deputy associate attorney general at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Other Notable Appointments

Armin Afsahi, associate vice president for alumni affairs and development and dean of development for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, has been appointed vice president for alumni relations and development at the University of Chicago.

Cheryl Deluca-Johnson, CEO of Street Grace, is now special-projects coordinator at Rainbow Village.

Mauricio Diazgranados, a research leader at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London, will join the New York Botanical Garden later this spring as chief science officer and dean of its International Plant Science Center. In addition, Eric Sanderson has been hired as vice president for urban-conservation strategy, a new role at the botanical garden. Most recently he was a senior conservation ecologist at the Wildlife Conservation Society.

Tanya Hand has been named chief development officer at the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites. Most recently she was vice president of major and transformational giving at the United Way of Central Indiana.

Anne-Marie Hendrickson, deputy commissioner for asset and property management at New York City’s Housing Preservation and Development agency, is now senior vice president of affordable housing at the Acacia Network.

Rotunda Floyd-Cooper will join the Wallace Foundation as its director of education leadership, effective April 17. She is currently an associate superintendent at Montgomery County Public Schools, in Maryland.

Marie Foster-Bruns has been named vice president of advancement at Valparaiso University. Most recently she was president and CEO of One Region, a nonprofit group that bolsters economic and community development in northwest Indiana.

Juana Kweitel, executive director of Conectas, has been appointed vice president for global programs at Luminate.

Ryan Murphy, leadership-giving officer at the College of the Holy Cross, has been appointed vice president of advancement at Anna Maria College.

Lucia Corral Peña has been promoted from senior program officer to chief program director at the Blue Shield of California Foundation.
