Buffett Gift May Influence Giving by the Wealthy

Warren Buffett’s investing style has attracted a large following among amateur investors, and some philanthropy consultants are predicting that his decision to give away most of his fortune will influence other donors to follow his approach, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Philanthropists like both the publicity they get for giving while they are alive, plus the tax benefits, the newspaper says.
