President Bush plans to raise $500-million to build his presidential library and a think tank at Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, the New York Daily News reports.
Sources close to the president told the newspaper that the university and the president’s fund raisers hope to get half of the money from donors who contribute $10-million to $20-million apiece. The rest of the money will come from donors willing to pay $25,000 to $5-million.
The fund-raising goal is twice what Mr. Bush raised for his 2004 re-election campaign, and it “dwarfs” the amount raised to build other presidential libraries, the newspaper reported.
