Calif. Company to Donate $20-Million for Schools
April 11, 2006
The Irvine Company, an Orange County, Calif., real-estate business, said Monday it plans to give $20-million over 10 years to the Irvine Unified School District for an ongoing program that sends art, music, and science experts into classrooms twice a week and costs approximately $2-million a year, the Los Angeles Times reports.
To date the program has been supported by the Irvine Public Schools Foundation, but with the Irvine Company’s pledge, the fund-raising group plans to turn its focus to improving health care on local school campuses.
