After 12 years as head of the Minneapolis Foundation, Emmett Carson is heading west to oversee the new Silicon Valley Community Foundation, reports the Star Tribune, in Minneapolis.
Mr. Carson, who served as chair of the Council on Foundations until earlier this year, helped to start a disaster-recovery foundation in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.
In his new role, he will manage more than $1.5-billion in assets.
