Thirty-six percent of every dollar raised by California solicitors went to charities in 2004, according to a new report by the state attorney general’s office, says The Sacramento Bee. In a statement, California Attorney General Bill Lockyer said, “The numbers continue to show that too many charities receive too few dollars when commercial fund raisers are employed to solicit donations.”
