Celebrities Donate to Help King Memorial

An online charity auction run by the Charity Folks Web site this week will feature items donated by celebrities, including Brad Pitt, Laurence Fishburne, and Jennifer Lopez to help raise money for the planned memorial on the National Mall for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., reports the Associated Press.
Big-ticket items include two custom-made motorcycles donated by actor Ben Affleck, as well as motorcycles from Mr. Pitt and Mr. Fishburne. Groundbreaking on the King memorial is scheduled for this year, with the dedication ceremony planned for 2008.
The memorial hopes to raise $100-million by its opening, the Associated Press reported previously.
