Celebrity on a Charity Mission Refuses to Meet With President Bush

While visiting Washington to promote Operation Smile, the celebrity Jessica Simpson turned down an offer to meet with President George W. Bush on behalf of her favorite charity, reports the Associated Press.
Publicists for Ms. Simpson say she declined the invitation because the group, which offers free plastic surgery to children with facial deformities, is nonpartisan.
