CHARITIES AND HURRICANE KATRINA

Philanthropic groups, along with government and corporations, failed in their efforts to deal with the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, says a report issued by Republicans in Congress, reports CNN.
A committee of 11 Republican members of the House is expected to issue the report on Wednesday and to offer 90 recommendations on ways to improve the nation’s disaster-response system.
