Charities Assist Middle East Refugees

With an estimated 500,000 people displaced from Lebanon and Israel, organizations offering humanitarian aid to refugees are looking for donations to continue their relief services, reports The Wall Street Journal.
United Jewish Communities, an umbrella group for Jewish federations, created an Israel Crisis Fund on Monday, and has raised at least $7.7-million to move children, elderly people, and refugees to safer areas.
Save the Children is handing out kits with food, soap, and toys to families in Gaza, and plans to begin a program in Nazareth to counsel children who are emotionally troubled by the situation.
American Near East Refugee Aid is distributing medicine in Lebanon, and Unicef is working toward providing medicine, sanitation, and water to displaced people in Lebanon.
