Charities Look Beyond Auto Makers for Support

With the U.S. automobile industry on shaky ground, nonprofit groups in the Detroit area are seeking ways to diversify their sources of donor support so they won’t have to rely on General Motors, Ford Motor, and DaimlerChrysler, reports The Ann Arbor News.
Though the companies have no plans to curtail their philanthropic activities, many charities say the auto industry has become so unpredictable they think it is wise to seek new donors.
