Charities That Train Other Charities Grow in Number

March 19, 2007 | Read Time: 1 minute

The number of nonprofit groups established to train other charities in areas such as grant-proposal writing and drawing celebrity support has risen over the years, reports The New York Times.

According to Independent Sector, a network of charities, foundations, and corporate-philanthropy groups, the number of nonprofit groups has doubled in the past 25 years, to about 1.5 million, and with that growth has come new demand for training and education.

More than 1,000 training organizations have been started in recent years, and more than 250 colleges and universities offer courses in nonprofit management, the article states.
