Chicago Museum Lays Off 65 Employees

June 1, 2010

The Art Institute of Chicago has laid off approximately 65 employees, roughly 50 of whom were security-management personnel, says the Chicago Tribune. The remaining 15 employees who lost their jobs worked in departments such as facilities operations, retail, and education. The 50 security workers who were laid off were given the option to reapply for their jobs. This is the second round of layoffs at the institute since June 2009.
