The Clark Art Institute, in Williamstown, Mass., has received a donation of art works and cash worth $90-million from the Manton Foundation, reports the Associated Press.

Sir Edwin Manton, a former chairman of AIG Insurance who died in 2005, was a British citizen who lived most of his life in the United States.

The donation includes a $50-million grant from Mr. Manton’s foundation and 200 art works valued at about $40-million. The collection includes pieces by John Constable, Thomas Gainsborough, and other 18th-century British artists.

Before it received the gift, the institute’s endowment was worth $340-million.
