Cleveland Clinic Pledges to Prevent Conflicts of Interest

The Board of Trustees at the Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit medical center, has adopted measures to evaluate its staff members’ relationships with companies that might bias research or patient care, reports The New York Times. The board took the move after concerns were raised last year about financial ties and other connections between its doctors and drug and medical-device makers.
